Disney: Hackers ransom Bangkok-bound 'Pirates' movie | Bangkok Post: lifestyle

Cyber hackers have reportedly got copies of the new Disney movie, due to be released in Thailand next week. HOLLYWOOD - Walt Disney Co chief executive Bob Iger said hackers claim to have stolen an unreleased film and are threatening to distribute it online if they aren't paid a ransom. The Hollywood Reporter and the Deadline website reported that the Disney film that was allegedly stolen by hackers is Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, scheduled for US release on May 26. The film has been scheduled for release in Thailand next Wednesday, May 24, under the title Pirates Of The Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge, and distributors refer to it merely as "Pirates 5". Variety and other outlets reported that hackers apparently obtained the show through a breach at a post-production company.
